A Letter from Our Executive Director

Dear Friends of Drive4Change,

For more than a decade, I have seen what becomes possible when young people are given access, quality instruction, trusted relationships and room to grow. Drive4Change was built from that experience—not simply to introduce youth to golf, but to create pathways that can change the direction of a young person’s life.

This summer, we provided more than 20 weeks of golf camp opportunities for beginning, intermediate and advanced players. On September 22, we return to Ile Omode to serve more than 100 students during the school year. We are also launching the Oakland Middle School Golf League, creating a real team experience and a stronger pathway toward high school golf for 40 Oakland middle school students, including adaptive athletes.

Growth like this is encouraging, but it also brings responsibility. Transportation, qualified coaching, facility access and adaptive equipment determine whether opportunity is truly available or merely promised. Our job is to build the infrastructure that allows young people to participate consistently, develop over time and know that they belong.

None of this happens without families, coaches, volunteers, golf facilities, donors and community partners who believe in the work. Thank you for helping us move from participation to transformation.

I invite you to join us for Comedy & Cocktails 2 on Friday, December 4, at The California Ballroom in Oakland. The show begins at 8:00 PM. Come laugh with us, celebrate the young people we serve and help us build what comes next.

With appreciation,

Howard Oliver

Executive Director
