Sometimes the Phone Rings: Baseball Gear for Ile Omode
All roads lead to golf. They often start with baseball and softball.
After seeing firsthand how Loyal to My Soil runs its free camps and supports young athletes, I reached out with an idea: Would they consider donating equipment to help us build out the movement and skill-development side of our work at Ile Omode?
Golf is where many of our paths lead, but for some students, before the swing comes the chance to run, throw, catch, balance, and coordinate. Those fundamental movement skills reinforce one another. We want our model to help develop well-rounded kids, scholars, and young people who love to play sports. The joy, learning, and physical development all belong together.
Then one day, the phone rang. Tyson: “Where do I park? I’ve got the gear.”
He showed up himself and delivered gloves in a range of sizes, baseballs, softballs, and soft T-ball-style training equipment—right for our students’ current developmental stages.
Thank you, Tyson and Loyal to My Soil, for believing in this idea and helping us give kids more ways to move, learn, and play.
